Frequently Asked Questions

As with any school or education program, you probably have many questions for us.  In order to facilitate your needs, we have designed this FAQ to answer the most common questions we get.  If you do not see your question listed here, please email us at: info@OCLanguageCenter.com and we promise to get back to you as quickly as we can.

Q: When can I start the lesson?
A: You can start the lesson whenever it is convenient for you. Our schedule is flexible!

Q: Where do the the lessons take place?
A: You can choose either students residence or tutor’s residence. We recently added  online instruction too!

Q: How do I make payments?
A: We have three options: cash, check and credit card.
(Note: credit cards need to be processed through Paypal.  If you do not have a Paypal account, please go to: http://paypal.com and set one up.  It's fast, easy, and best of all, free!).

Q: Do I need to purchase the textbook?
A: It depends on your goals. If you would like to learn well-balanced 4 skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing, we strongly recommend purchasing the textbook that we use. You can get it in the Japanese bookstore or we can provide it for you.

Q: Can I cancel the lesson?
A: Yes. Classes cancelled by the student(s) in advance, and can be rescheduled if notice is given by the student to OC Language Center either by phone (949) 374-7786 or by email to info@OCLanguageCenter.com at least 30 DAYS prior to scheduled session time.  "No Shows" are non refundable.  If a student fails to cancel on time, full tuition must be paid for the missed class(es).

 Q: Is it possible to take a vacation?
A:
On most occasions, students who wish to take a vacation and resume their studies when they return, are eligible to do that provided written notice is given to our company at least 30 days prior to the scheduled vacation dates.

If a student is absent the class for a period of 6 months or more, that student’s account will be removed from our “active” file. If that student wishes to continue their learning, a new enrollment fee will be required.

Q: How much does the translation/ interpretation service cost?
A: Our Translation service is based on counting words; $0.20/ word. Interpretation service is based on an hourly commitment of  $50/ hr. However, that rate is subject to change depending upon the size and scope of the project.  We handle each item on a case by case basis. Please contact us to get a FREE QUOTE for your needs.
